Vyshvanka Day

Thursday, May 18th is Vyshvanka Day! This is an international holiday that aims to celebrate and preserve the Ukrainian folk tradition of fashioning and wearing embroidered clothes called Vyshvankas. Vyshvanka Day falls on the third Thursday of May and is celebrated by wearing and showing off these beautiful articles of clothing. If you own a Vyshvanka, join Smith-Jackson Ukrainian Bilingual School by wearing yours this Thursday!
