Proclamation - October is Dyslexia Awareness Month

The Learning Disabilities Association of Manitoba estimates that 10 to 15 per cent of the Canadian population struggles with a learning disability and up to 80 per cent of children with learning disabilities have difficulty learning to read.

Manitoba Education and Early Childhood Learning believes that all students have the right to learn to read. Dyslexia Awareness Month highlights Manitoba Education and Early Childhood Learning's commitment to strengthening student literacy achievement through building the awareness and skills of educations in meeting the needs of students who struggle, including those with dyslexia.
