Elder Phyllis Racette

Early Childhood Education, Class of 1997 and Applied Counseling, Class of 2017

 

Elder Phyllis Racette, given the Spirit name White Turtle Woman, is an Assiniboine alumni in Early Childhood Education and Applied Counseling. She is also a former Assiniboine Valedictorian and Community Service Award recipient. Elder Phyllis is a resident Knowledge Keeper with the Mountain View School Division where she emphasizes the power of education in supporting Indigenous youth.

Elder Phyllis speaks Ojibway fluently, lives a traditional lifestyle and is an experienced powwow dancer and women's hand drum group member. She takes pride in working within her Ebb and Flow community, contributing to its strength and progress.
