Mountain View School Division’s mission is to provide an inspiring, respectful and safe learning environment where every student is valued, nurtured and enabled to realize their full potential.
The vision of Mountain View School Division charts a course for MVSD to be a centre of educational excellence where all students become contributing citizens of a global society.
The guiding principle of this Framework is to ensure that First Nations, Metis and Inuit students in Mountain View School Division will know who they are, where they come from, and where they are going. Traditional ways of knowing will be honoured and through this their strengths and gifts will be discovered. Students will be empowered to become socially conscious environmental stewards and be contributing citizens of the world. All stakeholders: Elders, student voice, parents, community members, Indigenous organizations, First Nations communities, business organizations, school board Trustees, Indigenous Education Steering Committee members, non-profit organizations, Prairie Mountain Health, Child Welfare organizations, will work together to ensure ALL students in Mountain View School Division will have knowledge appreciative of contemporary and traditional First Nations, Metis and Inuit traditions, cultures and perspectives.
